I photograph in a lifestyle style, which means real connection rather than stiff posing. Parents holding their baby on the bed. A big sister peeking at her new brother. After 2,000-plus sessions, I have learned to handle any lighting, any fussy baby, and any rowdy sibling, so you never have to apologize for your family being your family.
When Should I Book My Newborn Session?
Book as soon as you know you want a session, ideally during your second trimester. I reserve your place based on your due date, then we finalize the exact session day once your baby actually arrives. That means complete flexibility if your little one makes an early or late appearance.
Newborns are best photographed in the first few weeks, when they are still sleepy and curly, but it is never truly too late. Babies are beautiful at any age, and I would rather photograph your baby at six weeks than have you skip these photographs altogether.
What Should We Wear and Have Ready?
Soft, neutral clothing photographs beautifully and keeps the focus on your family. Once you book, I will guide you on exactly what works best, so you are never left guessing in front of your closet the night before.
As for your home, please do not deep clean on my account. We work with the light you have and the rooms you actually use. A corner of the nursery or the end of your bed is more than enough. You have just had a baby. My job is to make this easy, not to add to your list.
