“Newborn portraits… because they won’t fit in your hands for long”
Spend a morning at home cuddling with your new little love while I capture BOTH lifestyle family and lightly posed newborn images that reflect your life and home as it is today.
Sessions are never rushed, are booked based on your due date, and are finalized once your baby is actually born. This allows me to be flexible if your little one decides to make an early appearance. Newborns are best photographed in the first few weeks, so contact me as soon as you know you want to book a session. This is not a rule…babies are beautiful at any age (it’s never “too late”), but the sleepy/curly poses are most likely to happen at the early stage. Since we’ll be in your home, you’ll have no worries about packing baby up, getting out in the elements (cold or hot!), or having them exposed to new germs.
My expertise in photographing newborns has led to my detailed attention to the small things (even as minute as a tiny tap of a newborn finger). This, as well as lighting choice, can make the difference between a snapshot and a portrait. During the session, your baby’s safety and comfort are of utmost importance. I pose them gently and naturally, letting them guide the way.
I also provide tiny hats, headbands, wraps, and bowls/baskets that have been custom-made and curated from all over the world for even the littlest babies. Poses and props are always chosen based on a baby’s own shape, temperament, coloring, and personality – and yes, they do already have their own little personalities!
As a full-service portrait photographer, I strive to create distinctive heirloom portraits that you’ll cherish forever. From image capture to inspection of the final print, I work with you to provide a completely customized product. My clients have found this invaluable and are so excited to receive their beautifully presented portraits.
E-mail or call me and let’s make memories together!
Tell the story of your baby’s first few weeks at home with a custom album. Choose from over 40 cover options to coordinate with your images. Includes the digital files of your chosen images.
Gallery wrapped canvases are a luxurious and contemporary way to display your favorite images. Canvases arrive ready for hanging. We also offer installation.
Looking for something special to do with your images? We can create one-of-a-kind artwork for you… including collages, announcements, and image boxes.
We’ll save a time based on your due date, then chose a specific day/time once your baby is born. I see only one newborn per day and only a few per week to allow for flexible scheduling for your family. Our goal is to see you within the first two weeks, but can get the ”newborn” look up to around 4-6 weeks (after that, they don’t fit in our baskets but are still adorable for ”baby” photos).
All purchased artwork comes with the matching digital files for safe keeping, online sharing, and gift printing. We also have collections that feature small prints with the matching digital files.
Before your session, we will have a phone consultation to help you prepare and begin thinking about what you’ll want to do with your portraits. This also includes helping you with what to wear, how to get baby ready (it’s easy!), and other suggestions to help the session go smoothly.
After your session, we’ll meet again in your home for a design/ordering appointment where you’ll be able to see your proofs and samples.
Don’t worry! As much as possible, I like to use the natural elements and light in your home but I also bring portable studio lighting which allows me to create beautiful images in any part of your home (and on dreary days). If you’d rather not feature your home, we can always crop in and focus on your relationships. We can also take elements that you do like and rearrange a bit to create an area that highlights them.
I have over 18 years of photographing newborns in their homes. I’m safety trained, fully vaccinated and specialize in newborn photography. I practice ”baby-led” posing which means that I let the baby guide me into what is comfortable for them.
