When should I book my newborn session?

As soon as you know you want one, ideally during your second trimester. Sessions are booked based on your due date and finalized once your baby actually arrives, so there is complete flexibility if your little one makes an early or late appearance. Newborns are best photographed in the first few weeks, but it is never truly too late, babies are beautiful at any age.

Where do newborn sessions take place?

In your home. Jenn has spent 20 years as San Antonio’s in-home newborn specialist, photographing thousands of newborns in homes throughout South Texas. There is no packing baby up, no getting out in the heat or cold, and no exposing your newborn to new germs, everything comes to you.

Do I need to buy props or outfits for the session?

No. Jenn provides tiny hats, headbands, wraps, bowls and baskets that have been custom-made and curated from all over the world, specifically for newborns. Poses and props are always chosen based on your baby’s own shape, temperament, coloring and personality.

Is my baby safe during the session?

Absolutely. Jenn is fully vaccinated and trained in newborn safety, with 20 years of professional experience handling brand-new babies. Sessions are never rushed, and your baby’s comfort always leads the pace.

How long does a newborn session take?

Sessions are never rushed and typically take place over a relaxed morning at home. There is plenty of time built in for feeding, soothing and cuddling, the session works around your baby, not the clock.

Can siblings and parents be included in the photos?

Yes, sessions capture both lifestyle family images and lightly posed newborn portraits, so parents and siblings are very much part of the story. As a mom of four boys herself, Jenn understands exactly how to keep older children happy and involved.

What should we wear for our session?

Keep it simple and comfortable. Because sessions happen at home in a lifestyle style, neutral, soft clothing photographs beautifully and keeps the focus on your family. Once you book, Jenn will guide you on exactly what works best.

Do you offer maternity sessions as well?

Yes, maternity sessions are available both on location around San Antonio and at home. Many families book maternity and newborn sessions together to capture the whole journey.

What happens to my photos after the session?
