Join us for Bunny Portraits at Nursery Couture in San Antonio on April 1st and 2nd. This year we’ll be having the cutest little lop eared bunnies for the kids and babies to hold and cuddle. Older children love to hold the bunnies on their lap, while the babies are sometimes happier with them in a basket. For babies that are pushing up, we can put them on the floor facing the bunny for a cute image. We are still searching for the perfect background, but it will be nuetral/classic with a wood type of floor. Here are a few from last year! Visit us on Facebook for more information on the sessions.

Happy 2011! We’re off to a busy start with our maternity photography and newborn portraits! We’ve also just returned from Imaging USA where we added some new product lines, including custom albums and new slideshow options.
Lately I’ve had a number of questions about the backgrounds on our website. They are all 100% client’s homes or on location (backdrops are only used for our mini-sessions at Nursery Couture). The key to using your home as a “backdrop” is in the use of creative lighting and the composition of the image. So, are all the homes I shoot in totally clean? (nope, I move stuff around) Are they perfectly decorated? Many are, many are “works in progress”. What they all are, though, is a part of your life right now, one that can be remembered in images even after the “things” change and the people grow.
I’ve also been answering questions about the perfect time to photograph your newborn. I usually recommend doing the session within the first two weeks if you want the curly, “baby in your hands” type of shots. But, there is no wrong time to photograph anyone (especially a baby!!). Maybe you aren’t quite ready for company or you want to wait until the baby looks a little more like what they are going to look like in the future…we can still do many of the sleeping poses (if they are good sleepers!) up to about 6 weeks. Our sweet newborn in this slideshow is a month old and a perfect little model (and her sister is a doll, too!).

Had so many cute one year olds these past few months! They are always fun to chase around and this little sweetheart was no exception. For one year sessions, I always try to get a few with a favorite toy and am ready to capture all of their new tricks (waving and blowing kisses are favorites). Dad came by from work and jumped in a few shots. Can’t wait to see more of this family in a few weeks when they welcome a new little addition to their family!!

and we are busier than ever! Every year I say I’m going to not take sessions over Thanksgiving, and every year I’m glad I did! Who could resist such a sweet little face, and darling holiday outfit. She’s also a new baby planner, so I’ll get to see her two more times!!
Santa’s coming and we’re doing portraits! This is the first time we’ve offered this type of session with special packages and a great session fee. We’ve got a darling set (think black and white damask, gold/bronze background, and our Santa!) and holiday cards to match.
